The "Saiwai Shimoina Wadaiko Festival" is a taiko exchange event consisting of the "Saiwai Fringe Festival" in the morning and the "Super Show" in the evening.

The Saiwai Fringe Festival features performances by local, national and international amateur and professional taiko groups. Admission is free for the public to watch the performances, which we hope will provide an opportunity for everyone to get to know each other in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.

In recent years, taiko has been spreading around the world at a tremendous pace. On the day of the Fringe Festival, we may also be presenting the results of the training of people from overseas who have come to Japan to study taiko.

Whether you like taiko or not, regardless of your age, gender or nationality, we will strive to make this a festival that everyone can enjoy. We would be more than happy if everyone who comes to the festival could experience taiko as a wonder of world culture and a wonderful form of expression that we should be proud to share with each other. At the same time, we hope that it will be an opportunity to reaffirm that the passion for taiko that flows through us is the same, regardless of the level, region or country in which we live and perform.

In the evening, the Super Show features TOKARA and a professional Guest Artist each year. In the past, we have invited international taiko groups, groups with percussion instruments and drums unique to their countries, as well as groups at the forefront of the Japanese taiko world.
